1998 Test Train
Album: Amtrak on IAIS navigate UP (accesskey 'U')
On 22-Apr-1998, Amtrak ran a test train from Chicago to Council Bluffs and back (AMD103 #84, 3 cars) as a test of feasibility for passenger service. The GE unit even got to switch a couple of hoppers that were left on the turntable lead, since they needed to get to the table to turn the single Amtrak unit for the return trip.
