On January 11, 2007, the IAIS, BNSF, and the Iowa Democratic Party teamed up to run a passenger train from Des Moines to Iowa City for the Governor's Inauguration and Ball. The train ride was free to anyone who wanted to ride. The IAIS supplied the power, crews, and business car "Hawkeye" while the BNSF supplied seven business cars from their own fleet.
