This unit arrived in CB via CNW on 2/1/1986 with BN F9As 786 and 820, then the trio moved to the Fremont & Elkhorn Valley (FEVR), where the two BN units were later scrapped. MILW 88C moved back to CB via the UP in September 1988, then to IAIS. It was to be used in IAIS service on the Council Bluffs-based Pathfinder dinner train, but that never materialized. In June 1989 it moved east on IAIS to the CSX at BI, bound for the Waccamaw Coast Line in SC. While the 88C's missing grills on the conductor's side give it the look of an F3A, it was indeed an F7A.
