QJs Lead Westbound Freight
Album: Special Trains navigate UP Album: The Chinese QJs navigate UP (accesskey 'U')
On Monday, 18-Sep-2006, the two QJs were the only power on a westbound freight of about 20 cars as it went west from Rock Island, IL, to Iowa City, IA. At that point, the two units were supposed to drop the train in the yard and continue west to Newton, IA, with only their tool car in tow.

This will probably be the last QJ run for some time, as they're expected to be stored in Newton until a buyer is found or further excursions are announced.
