- Unit was shipped from Erie, PA, in primer in Dec 2014 to Mid-America Car in Kansas City, MO for paint.
- Unit first spotted at Mid-America Car with red paint and large Iowa Interstate lettering on 11 Feb 2015.
- Unit was interchanged from the CP to the IAIS at Rock Island, IL on 27 Feb 2015 and sent to South Amana on BICB-26 for setup.
- Unlike 500-513, the ditchlights do not alternately flash on 514-516 when the horn is activated.
